Girl Scouts in the studio | Bloomington IL School of Photography

We had a fun bunch of Girl Scouts in the studio today earning their photography badge.  We learned about different type of cameras, how they work, and then the girls even got to experience what it's like to be a photographer.  They teamed up and took turns posing each other and taking pictures.  It was a great time!  If you are looking for an outing for your scout group, please contact us for details.  We would be more than happy to help them earn a badge, or just have them in the studio for some fun.

He Clicks She Clicks just returned from the PPA Imaging conference full of great ideas and inspiration for our studio!  Here are some images of a hands on workshop taken with Marceliano Munoz and Jaimes Hayes.  We, fortunately, had the time to walk around and get some pictures taken of the city as well!

Photography 101
Cost: $120
1st Session Starts Wed., February 1, 2012 (4 weeks)                                                                                   Wed nights 7-9PM (02/01, 02/08, 02/15, 02/22)
Week 1: Camera Basics
Week 2: Exposure (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO)
Week 3: Lighting (How to best use available light, and flash basics)
Week 4: Composition and Artistry
Each class with have both a lecture and hands on portion.  Classes will take place in the He Clicks-She Clicks Photography Studio at 315 E Front St. Bloomington IL.  Warren and Mary will both be available through email between class sessions to answer questions and offer critique.  Minimum of 5/Maximum 10 participants.  To register please email: heclickssheclicks@gmail.com by Wed., Jan 25th.
Digital Darkroom (Post Processing) 101
Cost: $120 (take $20 off if you complete our Photography 101 course)

Week 1: Storing and organizing digital files
Week 2: Post Processing Basics (adjusting for exposure and color correction, beautiful black and whites, and sharpening for print/web).
Week 3: Beyond the Basics (special effects, actions, brushes, and more)
Week 4: Artistic Creations (Learn how to make beautiful collages, add embellishments, etc).

1:1 Photography Basics
$70/hr
One on one custom sessions with either Warren/Mary to help you take the best pictures possible with the camera you have at whatever time or day is convenient for you.  To set up your session please email: heclickssheclicks@gmail.com and please indicate what type of camera you use.  Warren specializes in Nikon and Mary in Canon (but either understand the basic functions of all cameras and how to best achieve the most out of your camera).

Welcome | Bloomington IL Photography Studio

Welcome to our new He Clicks - She Clicks blog!  We are 2 professional photographers (Warren King of Photos by Warren and Mary Heern of Fia Marie Photography) who had the idea to come together under one studio.  In the summer of 2011 we found a great studio space in downtown Bloomington that we could not pass on.  The urban loft is located at 315 E Front St (2nd Floor) in downtown Bloomington IL, above The Launch Pad.  Not only do we have a wide variety of backdrops, props, and professional grade equipment, but we also have several exciting outdoor locations all within blocks of our studio. We only use a professional lab to ensure your memories are preserved for a lifetime.  While digital images are great for sharing with family and friends, there is nothing like a beautiful gallery wrap, large framed print, or custom designed leather album to display your most important memories.  We would love the chance to talk to you and show you what we can offer.

We still retain our separate companies, but we discovered that there is another level of photography that you can acheive when you have 2 professionals working together.  That's when we created He Clicks - She Clicks Photography Studio.  It encompasses everything that we do in our studio.  Aside from our separate clients, we have decided to join forces to provide amazing coverage for weddings, seniors, and special events.  We are also proud sponsors of Pics for A Cure.  Each month we provide a mini session special that not only offers a great bargain to our clients but also benefits charities.  Our primary focus is on cancer awareness and research, however, throughout the year we may choose another charity that is special to us.  We also enjoy being part of this great community and this past year reached out to photograph events for The Baby Fold and Operation Santa.  If you have an organization that may need an event/special photographer please contact us and we'll see how we can help.

In addition to creating photographs we are also opening our studio to other professional photographers who want to rent studio space (including equipment) by the hour/day, or want to join our Pics for A Cure effort by selling their artwork to help raise funds to fight cancer.

Our two newest, and very exciting, additions to He Clicks-She Clicks studio are: Black Velvet Photobooths and Bloomington's School of Photography.  Our photobooth promises to add fun to any event.  More information about our School of Photography will be added in another post, but I can say we are excited to share our passion for photography with others!
